On July 24, Mission Possible and LABS at LogMeIn partnered up to host our 1st ever Social Impact Hackathon in the Innovation Lab at HQ. The idea for the Hackathon came from employees feedback stating that they wanted skills-based volunteer opportunities. Mission Possible & LABS selected to work with the Boys & Girls Club of America (BGCA), a national organization of local chapters that provide after-school programs for young people.
The BGCA and LogMeIn identified three core opportunities to leverage LogMeIner expertise as the BCGA plans to launch a major initiative—MyClubHub—a solution that will serve as a common member management system for BCGA across its various organizations and clubs. We put together three teams of cross-functional LogMeIners that put their skills to work for a great cause in these three strategic areas:
- Communication Strategy – Team Lead: Andrew DeCataldo
- Product Marketing – Team Lead: Alix Hagan
- Training Planning – Team Lead: Tara Medeiros
With facilitation from Christian Ponce, Chris Tucker, and Necco Ceresani, the teams were off and running! After a day in the Innovation Lab, each team presented their ideas to leaders from the BGCA and the strategy work was on fire! The work that was completed was then handed over to the BGCA to start utilizing.
