Mission Possible + CoderDojo Fall Series is Off and Running!

Last Saturday marked the start to Mission Possible’s Fall session of CoderDojo at LogMeIn’s Boston HQ — and we had quite the turnout! CoderDojo mentors taught twenty-five children, along with their parents, web development languages such as Javascript, CSS and MIT Media Lab’s free programming language, Scratch.

At LogMeIn, we believe that computer programming is crucial for our global youth community and is a vital skill as technology becomes one of the fastest growing sectors and more and more programming jobs open up. While every child that learns to code may not want to write code for a living, they can benefit from the problem-solving skills, creativity and innovation that comes with each Dojo session.

“It’s great to be back for the Fall Dojo and to see both new and familiar faces learning Scratch and Web Development.” said Kyle Silberbauer, Engineering Manager at LogMeIn and CoderDojo Volunteer. “The Web Dev track is especially exciting because we have a lot of kids who’ve recently graduated from Scratch program and are now challenging themselves with new programming languages.”

The upcoming Fall Dojo sessions will be held at the following dates and times:

  • Saturday, 11/4 from 1-2:30pm
  • Saturday, 11/18 from 1-2:30pm
  • Saturday, 12/2 from 1-2:30pm
