From Boston to Sydney – Mission Possible Volunteers to Help End Hunger This Holiday Season

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday! Here at LogMeIn we are thankful for many things, including being fortunate enough to give back to our local communities. Earlier this month, employees from our Boston, Fairfax, and Sydney offices volunteered at their local food banks. Here is a recap of these volunteer days and the impact Mission Possible had!

Boston, USA
In November, 15 LogMeIn’ers rolled up their sleeves and helped sort and portion out food at the Greater Boston Food Bank. The Greater Boston Food Bank is the largest hunger-relief organization in New England and among the largest food banks in the country. During our morning at the food bank, our Mission Possible volunteers sorted over 12,000 pounds of food creating over 8,000 meals for those in need!

LogMeIn is proud to be a regular supporter at the Greater Boston food bank. Earlier this year we volunteered to help serve over 4,300 meals and sorted over 7,000 pounds of food. We are just a small part of a great organization that distributes almost 41 million pounds of food a year; enough to provide healthy meals to as many as 545,000 people.

Sydney, Australia
Each week Food Bank Australia provides hunger relief to 114,000 families and singles throughout New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. It also distributes food to 597 agency partners and 15 schools in these regions. Annually, Food Bank rescues and distributes more than 33 million kilograms (36,000 US ton), enough for 60 million meals.

Earlier this month, a team of 10 from LogMeIn’s Sydney office visited Food Bank’s warehouse and distribution center to pack Christmas hampers. During the coming
holiday season, 547 families will receive the hampers that LogMeIn prepared that day.au_foodback

Fairfax, VA, USA
Our LastPass team in Fairfax, Virginia also joined the fight against hunger this holiday season by volunteering at their local food bank, Food for Others. During the month of November, the team held a food drive and collected 350 lbs of food! Then on the Monday before Thanksgiving, they delivered the donated food to the food bank and spent the day processing and loading the food orders for Thanksgiving dinners.

Our November volunteer events were a great success and we look forward to joining these food banks in fighting hunger in our local communities again. Happy Holidays from Mission Possible!
